Scrapping, Cards and More

 January 1, 2015
MAN! It's been a while since I posted on this page! Might as well start the year out right.
I accepted a challenge to create something every day from Whimsy by Kelly. I just put the finishing touches on several thank you cards I made. They are all different in color but have the same basic layout. I was really pleased with them and so is my husband!

So I mark this entry as my first challenge of create something everyday.
1st challenge of the year met!

I'm back in the studio working on my Tangle A Day Calendar and my Face Book Journal from Out Tangled Lives.

I will also be posting to my other blog Teapartyinthestudio.blogspot.com

Today I am driving to San Antonio with my sister. We will be taking a class with Tami Sanders, the
So Smitten Valentine altered book I wrote about last time. And I will be stopping by my friend Dora's crop. She has some watercolor pencils for me and probably a couple of new items from Close to My Heart.

The crop I attended last weekend was loads of fun. The location was excellent. Made some new friends. And I made cards, cards and more cards. Will try to get some pictures posted later or maybe just drop one in the mail.

That is all for now. Gotta load the car and get my sister for a day of togetherness and creating.

Go create something today

My life was going along just fine last year until around April- WHAM!

I now have yet another hobby to add to my list.

One of my mini buddettes introduced me to scrap booking. The good thing is that I already had the majority of the tools and supplies since the hobbies sort of cross over.

I attended my first crop and had a wonderful time. I spent some money on stamps, learned to make pages and cards and made lots of new friends.

Everyone works on their own pace and table and not just scrap books. There are journals, cards, scrapbooks, boxes, and more. The most interesting thing I saw at that first meeting was an altered book called In The Garden. This woman took a class at Stamp Antonio Arts in San Antonio, Texas. Tami Sanders taught this class.

The book had all sorts of objects hanging from the spine. The inside was filled with lovely pictures of flowers and people. There was texture to the pages. There were fancy folded paper with decorated tags hanging out. There was frilly stands of fabric and lace. It was so full of things the book wouldn't close. This is a true work of art.

I have since taken a class with Tami and created the Steampunk Spells Altered Book. I added pictures of my son's Halloween party to the book. Today this books sits proudly on the shelf in his room. It is almost the first thing you see. I enjoyed this class so much, I started my own Christmas book. In this book I am putting pictures from Christmas 2012. It is full of friends who stopped by our home during the season. In January, I am taking my sister to San Antonio and we will create another book with Tami. This one will be the So Smitten Valentine altered book. I can't wait.

When packing for a crop you can fill up a car with stuff to take. It is a good thing I can drive to these crops. I cannot imagine flying with all this stuff. Miniatures is so much easier, even packing for the big scale projects.

I attended about 4 crops last year and will be attending a crop in Rockport, Texas, with my mini friend, this weekend. We will be in a new location and meeting new people. We plan on focusing our attention on card making. I still have a lot of things to take. You just never know what you will need.

Til next time, I'm off to crop!
Terri
