Zentangle Inspired Artwork

January 19, 2014

I just mailed out my swaps. I was in 2 different swaps this time.
The first one had to do with snowmen and blue and was to be on an ATC (Artists Trading Card)
Here are my 3 finals. One is for the hostess of the swap

This was done printing an old photo and tangled over it

This was a cute picture of snowmen I found and again tangled over it. I liked it so much I did it twice.

The second swap was done  on the standard 3.5 x 3.5 inch Zentangle tile .The tangles all started with the letter J. The first two are done this way. The third tile is a hostess gift I had already done.

So those are my latest swaps. I did start a new journal January 6.

Til we tangle again

Waiting for the glue to dry

Last day of 2013. It is raining and cold outside. The Christmas decorations need to be packed up. I need to fold the towels in the dryer. Ray baby will be home soon and I need to think about dinner. First I wanted to share a couple of three things with you.

I finished a project in my journal. I think I will call her "Sleeping Lady".
Sleeping Lady by Terri Young
I don't normally entitle my artwork so this is a first. This is done on a 5.5" X 8.5" velum page in my journal  I used some gel medium and a stencil to get her face shape. The rest is all done with a 01 black Micron pen. She has a lot of depth and I'm happy with the results.
I hope you like her.

ATC by Terri Young

I also did a final tangle of the year. It doesn't have a name and is done on an ATC (Artist's Trading Card). ATC's can only be given away, never sold! The size is 2.5" X 3.5"I gave this one to the lady at the mail center. She has been so helpful to me and others I sent there. She really like it and commented on how it looked so 3D.

Secret Postcard Swap by Terri Young

My final piece of artwork was done for a Secret Postcard Swap. I was given a name and created this 4" X 6" postcard. On the back is my name, date, and a quote about artwork. This was done on a piece of scrapbook paper from Somerset Studio magazine. I used the colors to determine the shape of the designs. This one was sent to Linda McMillian, a talented zentangler in her own right!

That's all I have for now. I'm off to begin packing up the Christmas decorations! Anyone want to come help?

Hi Terri. I came here from Zentangle® Zealots. I was curious to see what you do. I really like your work. Great tangles and inspiration...What CZT class were you in?
